Behind the modern lines of Amel yachts hide fifty years of know-how, born from Henri Amel's passion for oceangoing sailing and shipbuilding. The Amel equipment and design are in constant development to guarantee optimum onboard comfort, regardless of the sailing conditions.

The AMEL 50 on its release in 2018 won the "European Yacht of the Year" which has firmly placed the Amel 50 as a high-quality blue water cruiser. The Amel 50 is a modern design by Berret Racoupeau which encompasses all the Amel features which have made Amel synonymous with comfortable and safe blue water cruising into a 50' cruising sloop with a bright spacious interior layout. The layout has 3 cabins, an L-shaped galley and a large saloon with a chart-table. Choices of fine interior timbers and upholstery are available giving each owner their own bespoke yacht interior.

Sailing performance is not compromised in the Amel 50 with a tall masthead sloop rig, Hydranet furling sails, twin rudders and performance keel. The centre cockpit with hardtop and the opening roof is the nucleus of the yacht with sail controls and helm all enclosed from the elements for comfortable passage making. The cockpit is also the centre of outdoor living with a large dining table and seating for entertaining. Large optional sunbeds can be enjoyed on the aft deck and bow.

The heartbeat of the Amel 50, the Volvo D3-150 is housed in the unique centre engine room which is watertight, fully insulated from the boat's interior and provides easy access for service. The central engine room is akin to a superyacht and houses all the boat's machinery providing quiet enjoyment for all passengers.

The AMEL spirit is behind every stage in the construction process, from the choice of materials to the internal finish, along with the service provided to AMEL customers around the world. Fully designed and manufactured in La Rochelle, each unit is delivered by an AMEL technician, with one weeks training to get familiar with the yacht. Owners are familiarised with their new yacht and begin to appreciate the true pleasure of effortless, safe and comfortable sailing in the beautiful port of La Rochelle.
