VISION

VISION

The Vision of SILENT-YACHTS is to establish a new era of sustainable yachting by creating the most innovative and self-sufficient yachts.

Their corresponding mission is to create an independent and environmentally friendly yachting experience which combines the silent cruising of a sailing boat with the luxury of a motor yacht.

AUTONOMY

AUTONOMY

SILENT-YACHTS are true world cruises with the possibility of unlimited range. Even in the case of longer periods of bad weather, the range extender automatically starts to recharge the lithium batteries when their energy levels are low.

Their capacity provides ample energy for propulsion as well as all household appliances, including the air conditioning, ice machine, water maker or laptops. There is no need to search for Marina to charge the batteries, get ice, refuel, or fill the water tanks. You can simply cruise for weeks without fuel or the need to start the generator.

LUXURY

LUXURY

Enjoy high levels of luxury on a silent yacht. Watch TV. Enjoy cold drinks. Have the air conditioning running and create up to 2000 L of drinking water per day with the help of sustainable solar power. The air conditioning cools down or heats up the boat quickly and efficiently whenever needed.

Reliability

Reliability

All the high industrial-quality electrical components are engineer-built in Europe and the motor inverters are manufactured in the US.  The cables are IP 69 certified, meaning they work even when permanently submerged in highly pressurised water.

In comparison to conventional diesel-powered propulsion systems, electric motors are far more reliable as the only moving parts are the rotor and its bearings. Fuel-based problems are also an issue of the past, all wiring is tincoated and plugs feature a custom design which prevents humidity and water from entering.

Finally, all parts exposed to the marine environment are made of corrosive-resistant materials.

MAINTENANCE

MAINTENANCE

There is no maintenance required for the solar panels, all the batteries and the electric motors need area set of two new bearings after 50,000 hours of usage.

These bearing replacements should only be required every hundred years, the backup range extender requires much less attention than the two large diesel engines or sails in a conventional vessel, and as a result, the overall maintenance costs and efforts are minimal.

LOW COSTS

LOW COSTS

Virtually no maintenance leads to virtually no maintenance cost as the sun remains one of the few free resources in the world. There is no cost when we charge the batteries power and propulsion systems in household appliances with the help of solar panels.

The same goes for the electric water toys which can be directly charged on board the yacht. In combination with virtually no maintenance costs, these factors lead to minimal running costs in general, especially when compared to conventional Power Yachts.

TECHNOLOGY

TECHNOLOGY

Instead of retrofitting existing catamarans with solar panels and electric motors, SILENT-YACHTS are designed and purpose-built to be fully solar-powered from the very first time the pencil touches the paper.

“Most Efficient Yacht” Award Winner

“Most Efficient Yacht” Award Winner

Each year, during the Cannes Yachting Festival, an exclusive awards dinner gala known as World Yachts Trophies is held. During this event, awards are presented by members of an expert panel recognising top yachts and motorboats in various categories.

Flagstaff Marine is the exclusive Australian Dealer of the Silent Yachts range, so we’re excited to share that Silent 62 3-Deck has been awarded the prestigious World Yachts Trophies “Most Efficient Yacht” prize for 2024.

This groundbreaking catamaran perfectly combines leading-edge technology and innovation with bespoke luxury. Its striking and expansive flybridge is the largest in its class, designed to offer a superyacht ambience and amenities.

Receiving this award is a wonderful recognition of the hard work and commitment to advancing innovation within the world of sustainable yachting that Silent Yachts is committed to as they keep driving progress towards a greener future.

Silent-Yachts has restructured to emerge stronger under new ownership. With a new management team in place and access to fresh funding, there is a robust and solid growth strategy in place that covers the next five years.

New majority owner Michael Said is an American-German investor is also a client of Silent-Yachts, with a SY62 3-Deck in build now.

New CEO Fabrizio Iarrera, a veteran of the Italian yachting sector, has already restructured the business and helped to set it on a strong footing for the future. “Silent-Yachts is known and recognised throughout the yachting world for developing the technology to make electric catamarans a reality,” he said. “There are costs associated with creating an entirely new market, and the original business fell prey to these, at a time when price inflation everywhere was spiralling out of control.”

“Our yacht owners are passionate about the brand and the yacht itself, as our very strong pipeline of orders shows. For Michael Said, it was an easy decision to invest in a restructured Silent-Yachts, and many of our other owners are just as keen. We know we have a job to do to rebuild the brand’s reputation, but we’ve been thrilled by the positive reception we’ve had from those who have already put in orders.”

Iarrera will run day-to-day operations with support from Michael Said and a board of shareholders. Steve Bell has agreed to serve as vice chairman of this board and together, they will oversee the new business and assist the new management team to achieve growth. Bell is a veteran manager from manufacturing businesses across Britain and Germany, as well as a qualified trainer for sailing and motor yachts up to 24m.
