Graham's first look at Beneteau's new Swift Trawler 35

Beneteau’s new re-design of the popular 34-foot Swift Trawler had its official world premiere and launch at the Southampton Boat Show 2017. Flagstaff Marine Director, Graham Raspass, was lucky enough to be there.

Not only that but he was able to give us his thoughts as he stepped on board for the first time via a video walkthrough.

So what were his first impressions of the new re-design of this popular model – the new Swift Trawler 35?

Check out this sneak peek direct from Graham’s phone …

The Saloon Area

Stepping onboard, Graham was immediately impressed with the saloon layout and the amount of space, light, and storage … lots and lots of storage! Perfect for longer cruises.

Beneteau has redesigned a few things to create even more space in this 35-foot model – like rearranging the galley into a U-shape with beautiful, soft-touch closing drawers.

If you like flexible living space, this has it for sure … with a movable table in the saloon and a sofa that converts to a double berth.

Graham loved the great visibility from the helm position. Combine that with the huge side opening door with good rear visibility and backing the boat in to dock is easy for the novice boat owner.

The height and position of the side door also mean you’ll be off the boat and into the marina in no time.

The starboard side undercover walkway is just brilliant. Walking along you’ll feel secure on your feet and protected, even if the water gets a bit choppy!

And the retractable davits at the back for dinghy storage are a great option for ease of storage and launching of the tender.

The Flybridge

Upon the flybridge, Graham was again impressed with the amount of space. He commented that when you sit at the helm you have all the controls you need.

Flexible living is well thought out again with a swivel seat to the extendable table which can comfortably seat seven or eight people. Again, there are great views from the flybridge and extra space on the back deck for a couple of deckchairs. The slide-out icebox is a nice addition for entertaining.

Down Below

Heading down below, Graham commented on the great size of the owners’ cabin and the amount of light provided by the huge side windows and an overhead hatch. Plenty of storage again for those longer trips.

The second cabin has two full-size adult bunks and more storage. The shower and toilet are light, bright and practical for an extended time at sea.

To sum up … Graham loved the model – it met all his expectations and more. Flagstaff Marine has pre-ordered two Swift Trawler 35s! One will arrive in April 2018 and the other in June 2018. These can be specified to individual owner requirements up to the end of November 2017.
