Beneteau’s Swift Trawler 47 - travelling north

Paul and Vicki Clitheroe are the newest owners of a remarkable Swift Trawler 47. After taking up our VIP offer, they’ve just returned from a magical journey north to the Whitsundays.

After owning three yachts, including the Beneteau First 45 ‘Balance’, the switch to the powerful Swift Trawler 47 couldn’t be more exciting for Paul and Vicki. The couple spoke with Flagstaff Marine and shared what life was really like living aboard their brand new Beneteau Swift Trawler 47.

BIRTH OF A NEW VOYAGER

BIRTH OF A NEW VOYAGER

New owners Paul and Vicki Clitheroe absolutely love their Swift Trawler 47. After picking up their new boat at Southport, Paul and Vicki hopped on board and cruised up to the Whitsundays.

Now owners of their fourth Beneteau yacht, their praise of the Swift Trawler 47 is music to Flagstaff Marine’s ears.

Here’s what they had to say:

“The boat is an absolute cracker. We absolutely love her,” says Paul.

“It handles really well, showing Beneteau’s pedigree as a yacht maker. To no surprise, the two Cummins are as solid and reliable as you would expect. The Raymarine equipment is first-rate but easier to use than we expected.

The finishes are really excellent. Based on our last three Beneteaus, these are extensive and way above our expectations.”

EASE OF MANOEUVRING

EASE OF MANOEUVRING

Paul and Vicki are impressed with how remarkably easy it is to handle their Swift Trawler 47. It’s the ease of maneuvering that gives them so much confidence in their new boat.

“It holds a stack of fuel, good water supply and lots of battery power. Everything works and links up. She cruises along with good fuel burn, around the 20-knot range, and does it easily. She moves comfortably through the water and feels really solid.”

SPACIOUS AND COMFORTABLE

SPACIOUS AND COMFORTABLE

Paul and Vicki enjoy the spacious build of their Swift Trawler 47.

They absolutely love the large sociable lounge with facing seats and the open L-shaped galley.

“The layout makes a medium-sized boat a big one. We love how functional the kitchen is; tons of fridge space, the freezer is very effective and the dishwasher is brilliant.”

They also enjoy the roomy and comfortable nature of the Swift Trawler 47.

“Having spent four years with a TP 52 using the ‘off the back’ toilet, we had low expectations. But the full-sized toilets and the separate shower in the main cabin are terrific. The separate shower is as good as the one in our home!

We added memory foam to the mattresses, making all of the cabins’ beds really cozy.”

DISTINCTIVE AND CLEVER

DISTINCTIVE AND CLEVER

Paul and Vicki were also very impressed with their new boat’s clever use of space. Add the Swift Trawler 47’s distinctive character on top of that, and they were simply charmed.

“The ‘tip-up’ helm seat looked so clever regarding space and it surprisingly works.

It seats us both comfortable with good back support and easy access to controls and the systems. The layout of the space to the left of the helm is great for charts, reference books or coffee.”

PERFECT ON WATER LEISURE

PERFECT ON WATER LEISURE

The Swift Trawler 47 is perfect for Paul and Vicki as they get to sit back and enjoy the open waters. It’s the comfortable, large flybridge and swim platform that lets Paul and Vicki savour their leisure time when anchored.

“The huge swim platform is great. We pop the two Beneteau deck chairs on it and enjoy the view from the water level. The huge flybridge is a real bonus on a boat of this size. Just terrific.”

INSPIRING EXCELLENCE AND CONFIDENCE

And finally, a big thanks to Shane Crookshanks. You have been patient, good-humored, super responsive, amazingly knowledgeable and incredibly helpful.”
