Sleek, fun and playful

The Excess 14 is a cruising yacht that is fun, playful and picture-perfect.

Experience the ultimate blend of sleek lines, supreme comfort and sensational performance.

Among the unique and clever design elements is the crowning feature – modular living spaces that give you ultimate flexibility for your onboard lifestyle.

It’s the perfect boat for relaxing and entertaining with family and friends. Sunset cruise or family weekend away? The choice is yours with the exceptional, eye-catching Excess 14.

Distinctive and dramatic design

Distinctive and dramatic design

Like the entire Excess range, the twin helm stations aft provide outstanding visibility, connection with the water and that magical feeling of wind in your hair.

The Excess 14 adds a low boom, reduced windage thanks to lower freeboard, taut lines and redesigned hull windows – that make for a truly distinctive profile.

There’s also an aft-set coach roof, a forward stepped mast, a composite bowsprit (as standard) plus inverted and inclined bows. Add the exposed forefoot… and the Excess 14 is ready for adventure.

The Excess 14 also features an optimised fins design, extended rudder blades and a superior steering system to make you feel right at home at the helm.

There’s fantastic visibility onboard too, thanks to untinted windows, a unique market offering exclusive to Excess.

Innovative architecture

Innovative architecture

The Excess 14 is the result of a collaboration with VPLP, the French-based naval architectural firm responsible for some of the world’s most innovative racing vessels. This in-depth knowledge of ocean racing – plus cutting-edge technology – informs the unique Excess 14 design.

Excess and VPLP have equipped the catamaran with a forward-set rig, square-top mainsail, and a large overlapping genoa (as standard) which gives you optimum sail area to displacement ratio.

There’s also increased bridge deck clearance for a smoother passage through the water, enhanced by the asymmetrical hull design which reduces drag interference.

Other performance features include:

  • A lower centre of gravity
  • An optimised structure (foam sandwich, carbon reinforcements, etc.)
  • A new longitudinal volume distribution. Excess doesn’t do things by halves!
Inviting and ingenious layout

Inviting and ingenious layout

Excess excels at creating warm, inviting and comfortable interiors that are practical and spacious.

For Excess 14, the designers maintained volume and headroom throughout – and added wide, comfortable beds, bathrooms with separate showers, large and subdivided storage, and clever extras such as the retractable chart table.

Whilst the Excess 14 design is inviting, it’s also flexible, with a choice of several layouts.

The three-cabin option features:

  • A central bathroom
  • A luxurious walk-in dressing room with space for sailing gear and casual clothes
  • An option of extra bunks.

The four-cabin option includes:

  • A total of four cabins, four heads and four separate showers!
  • An optional skipper cabin in each hull
  • A sky lounge option that provides lounging space on the coach roof with no compromise to the overall look.
