51.1 On Deck

Sailing any of the three exuberant Oceanis 51.1 models is a pleasure. A third of the hull is now stepped, and in addition to the aesthetics of this flared shape, the new hull creates loads of extra interior space – allowing for exciting new layouts on a boat this size.

With the emphasis on taut cruiser lines, she is a joy to move around and is reassuringly safe. The spacious cockpit has an abundance of relaxation and sun baking space, as well as Beneteau’s award-winning electronic swim platform.

Sail the Charter or Comfort Oceanis 51.1 and you’ll notice the furling mast, self-tacking jib and the halyards and sheets on the standard model are all brought back to a single winch at each of the helm stations, making her simple and easy to sail. Maneuvering around a tight marina? The built-in Dock & Go technology simplifies everything.

The 51.1 Comfort cruiser also features an integrated bowsprit and Beneteau unique mainsail arch for a safe and clutter-free cockpit and sunbeds.

If you select the high performance 51.1 Fast Cruiser, you’ll notice she’s fitted with an extra-tall carbon or aluminum mast. This delivers up to 35% additional sail area.  The extra sail is balanced by a 2.8 m lead bulb keel. A composite steering wheel, top-of-the-range deck fittings, rigid vang, and hydraulic backstays all ensure optimal performance and crew comfort.

51.1 Interior

51.1 Interior

Glide easily down enormous stairs to an area bathed in natural light, thanks to large hull portholes and skylights that emphasize the elegant design by Nauta … soak in the atmosphere and enjoy every moment.

The customization options are endless. Beneteau has taken the idea of a ‘custom made’ yacht and put it within reach, literally.

With over 700 different variations, including your choice of brushed oak and mahogany woodwork, each of these three models can be built entirely around you, and for you.

And while the Charter and Performance models offer the high level of luxury you are used to with Beneteau, when you select The Oceanis 51.1 ‘Height of Comfort’ model you’ll enjoy that – and a little more. Architecturally, she stands alone in her class.

The private owners’ cabin has an en suite shower room and toilet and a 1.6 m wide island bed. A fully-fitted U-shaped galley has many convenient appliances. This is truly a space to enjoy together and is as incredible under sail as at anchor.

Sail World

“Unequivocally, it has been a delight to be in Barcelona to test the new Beneteau Oceanis 51.1. This is a vessel that has been quite captivating, from both an aesthetic and technology point of view. To actually see it in the flesh, against its other new siblings, does indeed serve to indicate more than a new direction.

This new era represents the very essence of the new world, the new market, the new cruiser, and that can never be a bad thing, for the times change, and going back now seems more and more unlikely as the time marches inexorably on.”
