Arriving in Sydney March 2022.

The all new Excess 11 is the entry size of the exciting new range of catamarans from Groupe Beneteau and is in many ways a replacement to the Groups phenomenally successful Lagoon 380 of which over 1000 were made. As one of the most modern, and completely new designs in the cruising catamaran world the Excess 11 shares similar internal and deck volume to most 40 footers designed before her.

In terms of initial success, Excess 11 has won both Sail World Magazine's and Cruising world magazine best multihull and orders are well into the hundreds now, with delivery out till 2023. We have secured 2 build which is leaving the factory in December 2021 (Hull 48) arriving into Australia in February 2022..

The Excess 11 shares the same designers in VPLP and Nauta, and is built in the Group Beneteau factories as the Lagoon catamarans, so you enjoy the same cutting edge design and high level of finish that has helped Lagoon dominate the global catamaran market for the past 20 years.

You also benefit from all the experience Group Beneteau has gained by producing and servicing thousands of multihulls for over 30 years, and the financial backing of the world's largest producer of boats bringing you exceptional value in this new catamaran and the comfort of strong aftersales support throughout your ownership.

In the new Excess Catamarans, you can enjoy some key differences listed below compared with the current mainstream cruising multihull offerings, giving the new range a strong personality of its own:

o Concentration and emphasis on weight reduction through modern design techniques and use of lighter yet stronger materials for more performance.

o A sharper and thinner, stepped hull shape below the water line ensuring less whetted surface area whilst still delivering maximum volume above the water line in the all-important living quarters, designed by VPLP who bring their experience from designing the world's fastest multihull and monohull racing yachts.

o A large, very efficient, higher aspect sail plan as standard with square top mainsail and very large, easy to use self-tacking jib.

o An option to boost your sail area a further 10% with the Pulse line. This gives you a taller mast, and an even bigger sail plan, which will give you extra horsepower in light airs and more speed, so you can switch off the engine quicker.

o No flybridge, which allows for a lower boom, improving the sail plan efficiency and aspect ratio further, bringing the centre of effort lower, for a better experience in the ocean pitching side to side or fore and aft. It is also much easier to zip up your lazy bag at the end of a day's sailing and the boom is always safely above the living area ensuring your family or guests won't be in danger of a crash gybe.

o Steering wheels at each aft helm station. With the steering wheels connected by Dyneema directly to the rudder quadrants rather than by wire, chain or hydraulics, Excess catamarans brings back the feel of real sailing, with direct control of the rudders, as we know from monohull sailing yachts or more high-performance multihulls. The aft steering stations are also great for docking where you are close to the pens and it is easy to walk to the back to grab lines. You are also always a part of the action and on the same level as your family in the cockpit.

o By removing the flybridge, the Excess catamarans offers an opening roof (as an option), to the stars or sun when you want it, and this will give you great visibility of the sails. Of course, this can be closed when you want cover or shade, and again this reduces weight aloft.

The interior of the Excess 11 is by the world famous Nauta design house and you will enjoy all the volume of the most luxurious cruising catamarans with a new, lighter, more contemporary look. There are different personalisation colour and texture themes to choose from.
